DUO ACASĀ
Acasă means 'at home' in Romanian
Romania, Bulgaria and Greece, former countries of the Byzantine and then Ottoman empires, have retained the rich modal colours, the taste for improvisation, the sensuality of sound, the rhythmic complexity and virtuosity characteristic of the professional musicians of these lands, generally of gypsy origin.
Patrice Gabet and Christiane Ildevert have been travelling these countries for many years, working with musicians and dancers and recording 7 albums with the group Aksak, of which they have been members for 27 years.
