Get out your diaries, Windfoil and Kitefoil are coming to Serre-Ponçon
The Club Nautique Alpin de Serre-Ponçon organizes the Voile Espoir Extreme Glisse French Championship , featuring Windfoil and Kitefoil . 240 competitors in each discipline are expected to take part.
3 disciplines are represented:
- Category Espoir (14-18 years) WindFoil (Olympic discipline 2024)
- Espoir category (14-18 years) Kitefoil (Olympic discipline 2024)
- Senior category (18 and over) Kitefoil
A prestigious godmother!
Hélène Noesmoen from Les Sables d'Olonnes is the event's godmother. This double world champion (2020 and 2021) and European Windfoil champion will be supporting all these future champions.

A tailor-made nautical program
- Category French Wind Foil Espoir Championship: from 20 to 26/08/2022 / Built courses, sailing area in front of Embrun. Raid courses, sailing area between Baie St-Michel and Embrun, passing under the Savines bridge.
- Category French Kite Foil Espoir Championship: from 20 to 24/08/2022 / Built courses, sailing area in front of Savines-le-Lac. Raid courses, sailing area between Savines-le-Lac and Embrun.
- Category French Senior Kite Foil Championship : from 20 to 24/08/2022 / Built courses, sailing area in front of Savines-le-Lac. Raid courses, sailing area between Savines-le-Lac and Embrun.

Several sports contests are scheduled in the mornings in the sports village:
- Climbing event on 22 and 25/08: climbing wall fixed above the water on the Embrun lake.
- Dockstart / Pump Foil on 08/21 and 08/25: Dockstart or pumping consists of launching a foil from a lateform (pontoon, etc.) and, in a movement of coordination and lightening, pumping with the legs to move forward. It's not enough just to maintain inertia; you have to create it.
To round off this nautical event, 3 themed evenings are being organized in Embrun at the race village.
Le Thermal de Serre-Ponçon and foiling, a beautiful love story
A foil is a float placed under windsurfing, kitesurfing or wakeboarding boards , enabling the board to "levitate" above the water. A unique and incredible sensation that every rider is looking for. Serre-Ponçon is an ideal playground for foiling, thanks to its gentle waters and moderate but almost daily breezes (foiling takes advantage of "low" wind speeds). Indeed, the mountains encircling the lake and the thermal amplitudes between day and night, which start to develop as soon as the weather turns warm, favor the appearance of stable, regular thermal breezes from mid-day until late afternoon.
No matter what the conditions, foilers are always first in the water!!!!
