Description

Discover the world of energy at the foot of one of the largest dams in Europe!

The history and landscape of Provence were transformed by the construction of this gigantic dam and the 250 km of canals that now irrigate the region. How were they built? Find out by visiting the Espace EDF Odysselec Maison de l'eau et des énergies de Serre-Ponçon, a vast area of fun, interactive and educational information. A free and unique site to visit at the foot of one of the largest dams in Europe! At the heart of a major EDF industrial site, you can find out all about hydroelectricity and renewable energies.
How power stations work, energy professions and uses of water... There are so many subjects to discover through fun modules, archive photos, film screenings, etc...

5 visitor experiences are on offer:
- The 200 m² exhibition area where interactive modules, touch screens and videos tell the epic story of energy. Relive the construction of the Durance dam and canal. An educational tour suitable for all ages. Tourism and Handicap label for all four disabilities.
- The interactive exhibition Superlatif, the industrial adventure of the century, 30 giant photos of the human epic that was the construction of Serre-Ponçon. Striking images of the record-breaking construction site for which every superlative was used, hence its nickname of "construction site of the century". Take your smartphone and flash the QrCode to discover additional content: videos from the period, previously unpublished photos...
