Who are you and where do you come from?
We set up and opened Cogitarium together: my partner Guillaume François and myself, Jeanne Mesager. The desire to open and run an escape game came to us during a trip to Athens, where we discovered and loved the game. As soon as we finished our first game, we literally fell in love with the activity and immediately had the idea of opening one.

Tell us about your business?
The escape game is a fun, logical game of team coordination and communication. Players experience a real moment of cohesion. It's an inclusive game where everyone has a part to play. We are proud to offer our players an experience in which they will forge or strengthen a special bond.
How did you come up with the idea of creating an escape game in Crots and Serre-Ponçon?
We're very attached to the Embrun region, and are proud to have established a business here that caters to both local and holiday/seasonal audiences, offering indoor and outdoor games all year round.
-
One of our two theatrical scenarios, at Les Crots: in a dark thriller atmosphere, the criminal investigation "POLAR" or the dive into the mysteries of ancient Egypt "LA VOIE DES HIEROGLYPHES".
-
Outdoors on the Lac de Serre-Ponçon, aboard a 10-meter sailboat, in search of a lost relic, "MYSTERES ENGLOUTIS".
-
Do you have any juicy details about its creation?
Since we opened in 2017, we've written and set up over 10 different escape game scenarios, both indoor and outdoor. We're proud to offer new games to our regulars every summer!
-
How did you choose the different storylines? Will they evolve?
Some of our scenarios are purely imaginative, while others tend to stick to a certain historical reality! In the case of Mystères Engloutis, the sailboat escape game, we chose to stick to the genesis of our lake's history... its impoundment and the fantasies conjured up by the prospect of an entire village engulfed by the waves.
-
Who is your target audience?
Our games are aimed at all ages, from 7 upwards.
-
Do you have a little anecdote to tell us?
"MYSTERES ENGLOUTIS" takes place on a Danish sailing ship built in 1963, which will celebrate its 60th anniversary this summer!
